Youth Theatre Exploits Sophisticated Online System
Pegasus Theatre in Oxford takes advantage of a leading edge social networking and web content management system.
 |
Pegasus Theatre has been serving the youth of Oxford for over 20 years.
Offering a range of groups, courses, workshops, and performances all
designed to draw out the creativity within Oxford's young people, the
Pegasus Theatre has long had ambitions to develop its digital
expression.
After an extended period of consultation with Web
Marketing Strategy, Pegasus came up with an impressive vision of how
the internet could be used to facilitate its activities, to promote
digital creativity, and online collaboration. |
"
What we have created with Pegasus Theatre is fabulous - I think its one-of-a-kind", says Dr Nick Trainor, MD of Web Marketing Strategy.
"
It is a heady mix of beautiful design, and cutting edge technology, tempered by the input of the members at each stage", say Nick Trainor.
Web Marketing Strategy realised very early on that they would have to work with Pegasus at every step of the way - including taking criticism from 10 year olds about our proposals!
"
But that's half the fun - after all these are the folks who will be using the systems day-in-day-out," comments Trainor.
The system - named IceFlow - allows the Pegasus Theatre to:
- create artistic projects;
- build multiple microsites for different internal and external projects;
- handle access controls for participants;
- manage content provision through the inbuilt editorial process;
- securely handle online input from participants;
- store resources (videos, images, documents, etc) in an easy-to-access area for use - the iStore;
- allow participants - theatre companies, members, staff - to collaborate online;
- build online forums;
- create online galleries;
- and much more!
